Hala Azzawe
Coach and Director
CrossFit has really changed her life and she would like to help others change too.
Hala had recently moved to NZ from Canada, and while going through the motions of getting settled in a new environment and ensuring her family felt minimal change, her personal life had to take a backstage to the needs of her two children. She has always put a priority in healthy eating but not being able to exercise, her decline in fitness levels adversely affected personal level of mental fitness and the ability to deal with day to day stresses.
She used be a track runner in her high school days and then played rugby at university. Knowing the importance of fitness to her personal state of mind and physical well being she knew she had to find something to help her get fit but more importantly make her mentally fit, able to cope with the daily stresses she faced as a mother of two children (4 years and 1.5 years) as well as any other things she may face.
By pure coincidence she stumbled across her local CrossFit gym and joined, not really understanding what this was all about and how it differed from a regular gym workout. Slowly she found the benefits gained were exponentially felt in her everyday life. To be able to go to the gym and do an intense 45 min worth of a workout and get back to her children was very inconvenient at first. But later enjoyed the benefit of that 45 min workout throughout the whole day.
She met some good friends, good coaches and even though she didn’t allow CrossFit to become her life, she could truly say that CrossFit was an important part of her life.
She is hoping to use her energy and her life journey to help others get fit and feel the same euphoric energy levels she enjoys. Time spent with Hala will always be a memorable one, and when you see her ask her about her kids, she can’t stop talking about them.

Ammar Sagban
Coach and Operations Manager
Ammar is new to the fitness industry but comes to us with a big heart. His background is in business consulting and corporate training of topics like NLP and other communications based teachings, but in a different life he reckons he could have been a stand up comedian.
He has spent the better half of his adult life in the corporate world as a business consultant always working day and night and to the point where he felt he had lost that work life balance. As a consultant his job entailed working with people of different walks of life and different competency levels to help them see through the complications and help simplify all and any obstacles they face. In his effort to gain back control of his life, he found CrossFit.
With CrossFit, he feels he had found that segway into giving himself and all other corporate employs a different outlook on challenges and obstacles through intensity training ad neurological stimuli. CrossFit offered him the opportunity to train not only his body but his mind, and hopes to introduce that technique to all the athletes and acquaintances.
Ammar is committed to addressing corporate Auckland and bringing back the simple principles of healthy living through CrossFit, to help everyone he meets to tip the scales towards a better wellness state of being.
Ammar has been CrossFitting since 2009, before deciding to take the plunge and get certified. He will be our main driver for the induction courses as well as help us run the business. His future plans are to become a paramedic, so watch this space……
